ABOUT KRONION, KLADEOS AND THE SURROUNDING AREA OF THE ARCHAEOLOGICAL SITE

When referring to the Archaeological site of Olympia we don’t only mean the fenced archaeological site but all the natural surrounding environment due to which the first sanctum was created (the sanctity of this place was acknowledged at the rivers of Olympia: Alpheus and Kladeos and at the hill of Kronion). Consequently, Olympia was not «saved», but burnt. Desperate and improvised moves, without historical and scientific background, will expose to danger the historical scenery as well as the tourism of Olympia that preserves the local community (not to refer to the ridicule).

OUR AIMS:
Whatever the intervention is must result from the guidance and the co-operation with those who have studied the site as natural and cultural place, and they will not necessarily be those who administer it and those who rushed to claim that they saved it. Not allow the protection of Kronion, Kladeos and the surrounding area from the «experts – in charge» who, probably, will rush to reforest with the kinds of their choice that possibly have in their gardens too.
